The readout pot of the High Power PHase shifter is connected to the motor assembly. In one case we had the HPPH jammed (in the position for X6, so this energy worked fine!) When energy was changed the motor moved the pot to the desired position but the HPPH plungers did not move.
Hard to detect! It appeared that the rotating axis of the HPPH plungers got stuck!
The HPPH can be repaired on site (bearings). Remove it from the waveguide system but don't try to do this on your own!
Take your time. It is possible to repair that expensive thing!
When reinstalling, prevent mechanical stress. Otherwise you will introduce SF6 leaks.
